Host a Period Supplies and Bras Drive on our behalf! 

A period supplies and bra drive are one of the simplest ways to support our cause in Burkina Faso. A period supplies and bras drive will help us keep girls in school, which is important for our initiative to be successful and to achieve our goals. Guide to host a drive for bras, menstrual care products, and/or general hygiene products.

If you would like to host a drive:

  1. The first step is to register by filling out the form below and we will be in touch!

  2. The second step is to know where to send the collected products:

  • I would like to host a drive. Where should I send the collected products?

We kindly request that you mail the collected products via USPS to:

  • Is there a minimum number of products I need to donate?

Any number of products your drive collects is greatly appreciated. We want middle and high school girls to get the products they need and to stay enrolled in school.” However, if you get 50 people to come to the event, you should aim to collect at least 25 products.

  • How many products should I expect to collect?

Every drive is different and there are many factors which affect the total amount of products collected. It’s best to be realistic when deciding upon a goal - factor in the number of people you can reach with your call to action and the amount of time the drive will last. Is there a “better time” to hold my drive?
There’s never a bad time to host a drive! We work 24/7/365 to distribute product. Drives or collections during any point in the year are always welcome.

  • Where are the donated items going?

Donations are collected and internationally distributed to GNWL in Burkina Faso.

Best practices for a successful drive

Based on hundreds of drives, we recommend you:

  • Get the word out early and often. Facebook is a great connector. We can also provide you with a flyer to post online or print.

  • Have a realistic goal in mind. For example: To collect 200 bras and 500 menstrual hygiene products. Knowing your personal reach and considering how many families and friends will answer the call will help determine your goal.

  • Find a space in your home and clear some space! You’ll need a place to sort the donated products. 

Non-exhaustive list of acceptable items: Menstrual Care and General Hygiene Products

  • must be individually wrapped

■    Menstrual pages
■    Tampons
■    Pantiliners

  • Must be new

■    Menstrual cups/discs (e.g., diva cups)
■    Period underwear
■    Deodorant

  • May be secondhand or gently used

■    new/gently used bras and bralettes
■    sports bras
■    masks (homemade, cloth, surgical, N95, etc.)
■    Lysol wipes/disinfectants

Start a Social Fundraiser

Start a social fundraiser with your family, friends, and colleagues! Just set a goal, communicate your goal via social media outlets, and collect products.

Host an Event 

Host a social event for the drive! For example: Bra-fest Brunch, Period Party, or Brassiere Bash event to raise money and collect products. Whether you’re an individual, small business, or large corporation, please consider using your platform to benefit the needs of women in Burkina Faso and the vision of GNWL.

FAQ

How do we know where funds are going?


Girl Now Woman Later Inc, along with its executive team, is entirely volunteer-led. Less than 5% of funds go towards covering the cost of shipping and filing fees. The remaining funds go towards purchasing menstrual care, general hygiene products, and new bras for reservation communities, Title I schools, and other local programs in need of these items




Could someone write a check?


Checks must be made out to Girl Now Woman Later Inc and mailed to our official address. Contact us for more details.




What accountability do you have as a charitable organization?


As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, we are responsible for filing an annual information return that outlines all financial transactions, otherwise known as the IRS Form 990. Furthermore, we keep detailed books of every donation and transaction.
